Ayauna and Amani Barron are an Atlanta Based Mother-Daughter duo of seamstresses/designers.
In 2013, at the tender age of eight years old, Amani expressed an interest in learning to sew. With the support of her parents and family, Amani received a sewing machine and took private sewing lessons for two years.
Ayauna, having a life-long interest in fashion, was intrigued by her daughter's projects and decided to begin taking classes along with her. After closing the doors to her small business, in 2015, Ayauna decided to spend more of her free time sewing and perfecting her craft. Amani, being more advanced, began helping her mother develop more skill and precision. Within a years time the two were regularly wearing their own work and quickly developing clientele.
Amani routinely created cutting edge pieces for her mom to wear on date night every week and these pieces drew a lot of attention. Orders were so frequent that in 2016, the two decided to form a business, pairing up both of their names (AyaMani Design Co).
Ayamani Design Co. is dedicated to creating custom designs tailored to their clients individuality. "When it comes to fashion, we let our clients set the rules and the trends. We love creating unique, eye catching pieces that bring the client's personality to life".
Over the past two years Ayamani Design Co. has been requested by celebrity fashion stylist and expert J. Bolin. The team has also had the opportunity to work with celebrity fashion stylist Thomasina "Goo-Goo" Atkins.
In 2018 Ayamani Design Co. created the performance attire for gospel recording duo "Mary Mary", for the Stellar Awards. Ayamani Design Co has also been worn by other recording artist and celebrities such as Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Chrystal Rucker and Kiana Dancie.
While the team has a long journey ahead of them, they attribute their success thus far to their faith in God and acknowledge their special skills as a gift from God. They are building a brand and establishing a legacy with faith and family at the core of the foundation.
